Julep’s Freedom Polymer Top Coat

26 Nov

a235047.001

Happy Tuesday!  It’s rainy here in VA, but where I’m at I’m going to get all rain.  A few hours west and I would be getting all the snows.  Today I wanted to a review on something that I just used for the first time about 20 minutes ago.  I’m so excited that I had to share right away. Sorry for the lack of pics my phone and camera were dead.

I was changing out my nail color and decided to used Julep’s Freedom Polymer Top Coat.  Julep’s site describes the product as:

In clinical studies, 100% of women who used Freedom Polymer Top Coat passed the ‘smudge test’ after 5 minutes, compared to 0% who used the leading regular top coat.

Features & Benefits:

  • Quick-dry formula cures smudge-free under natural light in just five minutes; no UV light required
  • Perfecting polymer force field smoothes brush strokes and imperfections, leaving a high-gloss, gel-like finish
  • Gel-like shine without gel removal hassle
  • Comes off with any nail polish remover
  • ‘4-free’ formula contains no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, or DBP
  • For best results, use every other day and seal your free edges with each application.

Here is my verdict:  LOVE IT!

I thought my Seche fast drying top coat was the best ever, but now this one takes an enormous leap.  The formula is a bit on the thick side, I’m assuming because of the gel like finish.  The drying time was almost instantaneous.  I know you must think I’m fibbing, but it was seconds and it was dry.  I was able move freely with what I needed to do moments after I applied it.  I’m just super impressed.  I haven’t had any smudges either.  I’m going to give this a 100% must buy now backer.

If your not a Julep member it’s $18 if you are it’s the odd price of $14.40, go to Juleps site to purchase!

NOTD: Zoya PixieDust in London

14 Nov

I bought this color London about a little under a year agob and just got around to wearing it. Terrible isnt it? It goes to show that I have WAY to much nail polish.

This is about two days old and the wear of my nail are pretty nonexsistant. There is a slught wear on the tips that I can personally see. Thats the great thing about Zoya, it last for a long time. Even more so the PixieDust. Im always a fan and always suggest to purchase it.

Milani High Speed Fast Dry Nail Polish Review

Happy weekend all! I hope you had a nice relaxing and fun one. This past Thursday was my birthday and so thats why I was a little quiet this week. You will be seeing lots of reviews coming up soon. I did a haul online from Sephora and Ulta  and will share as soon as I get them.

To the product in hand! I won a Facebook contest with Milani and won a full size nail polish from them. I have to say I never had purchased any of their products before but I am highly impressed with the longevity of their nail polish.

I won their color Rapid Orchid which is a lovely deep purple. In the bottle it looks black but in the right light you can see the rich tones of plum.

I started off using my China Glaze base coat so my nails wouldnt get stained. Then added one coat that it suggests on the front of the bottle. It dried quicker than I thought it would, I would say in 30 seconds. Then I topped with my favorite top coat from Siche.

The only wear I have on my nails is from where I type all day at work. So as of today I have had it on a full five days. Pretty amazing. I am convinced to purchase more from them.

Leather my Nails!

16 Jul

image

Well the other night I found out Sephora was doing away with their OPI line they are working on their own line of polishes that are suppose to be cutting edge and ahead of the trends. Its suppose to be called Sephora X. Im excited to see what they come up with but said to see OPI go.

I did pick up the leather effect for $6. I really love the color. I think the new red trend is going to go more ox blood. More of a darl red with some brown undertones.  I have the black version of this and love it. Its pretty chip resistant and only wears off lightly. I tried taking a pic outside so you can get the leather look.

Juleps June Maven Box..All Things Nautical

2 Jun

image

Good Sunday Morning my beauties. Even thou my allergies have been killing me and I have been a bit under the weather I still did my weekly changing of the nail colors. In good timing I recieved my Maven box yesterday.

This months theme is Setting the Sails, all things nautical (I love this theme I am big into anything beach and nautical. I even have old school nautical tattoos). And they hit the colors spot on. The colors from left to right are Bess, Char and Nan. I automatically went with the blues since Ive been in that kind of mood. The reason why I didnt go for the red is because the last red I used from them wore away quickly and chipped horribly. Also to add a little summer fun I put a small sunflower on each hand.

Here is my nautical stars on my back. Its an old picture Ive done a lot more with this

What colors are you into right now? What is your go to color? What color do you like to sport for summer and are sporting now?

Juleps May It Girl Box

Ok Im sold on Julep! This months box was all about Jazz. I love jazz. I took a college course on jazz music and while it was a very tough class I enjoyed every minute. I havent been disappointed in the longevity wear of Julep and the fact that you can choose to get that box or skip that month if you dont like colors is a bonus. The colors I got this time is Paris (glittery golds and burgundys), Coco (really looks like a mocha cocoa color with a hint of red) and Clara (it almost looks like a peachy buttercream). I also got sime cute flower hair pin! Its almost more of a daring romantic feel then jazz, then again jazz was daring itself. Maybe Ill find an under ground club or a speak easy and get into some cool jazz while I rock these colors.

I love the detail you get from when you open the box.

Here is what it looks inside.

Even the tissue paper is fab! Im hoping I can swing their lipstick of the month like with this nail polish.

I really want to wear one of these colors now but Im going with a beachy color since Saturday I start my beach vacation!!! When I do thou Ill make a special post. Till next time my lovelies!

My Julep experience

Hey guys! Its been a minute. This past weekend I got my first Maven box from Julep. Its like nail polish of the month. I had a coupon code to get a free start up box and also ordere their box with the new sea salt line. The pic above is the sea salt box that came with 4 polishes, toe mani seperaters, a full bottle of their hand lotion and a nail file. That whole box was $24!!! And I love the packaging.

I finally did my nails and I used a color from my It Girl Mavem box and used Simone which is a pretty pinkish purple color. In different light and next to certian colors it could go either way. The brown is the sea salt line in Jill. I love this sandy color and the texture is like sand too. Its not to noticable but it reminds me of the beach. Which is perfect timing since Im leaving to visit Myrtle Beach next weekend for a week! Here is what the colors look like (I belive retail on Sephora is about $18 for one polish and I got 3 normally $19 start up box for 3 polishes and an extra freebie which was a sample of their warming foot scrub)

That pink bottle is the purplish colors on my nail. See what Im saying with it either being pink or purple

These are all the colors I got. The first two are the ones on my nails. The other are Stefani a patena green, Claudetter a pretty velvety red, Carly blue glitter, Sarah an orange red polish with a bit of glitter in it, and Viola at first I thought it was black but there is a purple tint to it. I cant wait to use them all!

Im excited about this Maven box!

New Summer colors from Zoya in their Pixie Dust line

11 Apr

image

Yaaaahh! I had preordered some of the Zoya Pixie Dust summer colors weeks ago and just got them in the mail. Great timing since Im about to do my weekly nail color change. The colors I got (from left to right) are: Miranda, Solange and Liberty

If your unfamilar with Zoya and this particular line then here are a few things you should know. Zoya only uses stuff that will not harm your nails.  It’s Formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, camphor and dibutyl phthalate  free. And Vegan friendly.  Their Pixie Dust line is their version of what OPI calls their liquid sand (even thou I love OPI’s liquid sand, I like this formula better).  Plus when wearing this you do not need a base coat or a top coat since it takes away the effect of the polish.  I have two other colors a green and a grey. I did a review on one before you can see here Liquid Sand and Pixie Dust

If your interested in checking out this line you can go here to Zoya Pixie Dust Summer 2013 Collection

I’ll be putting up my review on one of the colors I pick. Which I’m not sure which one.  Which color should I do?  Suggestions??
