December Ipsy Bag

18 Dec

wpid-20131218_175418.jpg

Well I’m sorry for such a blurry picture, I couldn’t tell to much on my phone.  I’ll just call this abstract December Ipsy bag.  Let’s break it down with each goody!

wpid-20131218_175441.jpgThis perhaps is my favorite out of them all. I’ve been wanting to try some falsies but never would buy them because I couldn’t justify the purchase. Thou now I can finally try them and try them I will!  New Years is coming up and I will be wearing these bad boys!

wpid-20131218_175502.jpgNYX Lipstick in Celine.  I love lipstick but this wouldn’t be one I would have bought off the shelf. I think this one would look fantastic on a darker skin if worn alone.  I’m to pale to pull this off by itself so I think this will add a nice sparkle or contrast to a bright colored lipstick.  The formula thou for this is soft and smooth.

wpid-20131218_175817.jpgSwatch for the lipstick is on the bottom, the Bombshell all over stick is at the top

wpid-20131218_175754.jpg

This is the Be A Bombshell all over stick in a very nice rosey pink. It’s very light.  I think I would use it more of a lip color and maybe try it out as a blush, but I am so use to my NARS Orgasm color.

wpid-20131218_175529.jpg

Nicka K  nail polish.  I’m not sure what the color name is but it’s a nice brown neutral color. And. It. Is. AMAZING!  Tomorrow I’ll show you how pretty it is once I clean up my manicure.  If I had one complaint it’s that it’s  a thinner formula, so two coats is a must.  I also love the bottle design, it’s so cute!

wpid-20131218_175714.jpg

Finally Pop Naturally Bare eye shadow. These are great every day wear shadows.  I haven’t used any Pop eye shadows before, just a lip color, so I’m curious. But this one will be great for traveling and when I want to go light (haha, like that will happen!)

What were your dislikes and loves of your Ipsy bag this month?

November BirchBox

18 Nov

wpid-20131118_213308.jpg

I’ve had this one for a week or so now, and it’s been sitting on my table for that long. As you can tell I am not to happy with it. Birchbox will be getting one more month before I decide to cancel my subscription. They haven’t sent me much that I liked. Thou if I do cancel it, that means I get to start up a new one!  So it’s not all a loss, right?
wpid-20131118_213410.jpg

I normally get a lot of polishes, this one comes form Color Club in Dark and Stormy.  This is close to the color I received in my Ipsy bag this month. Unlike Ipsy this is just a small sample size, which is ok. I’ll probably give it away as a gift, I have a few ladies at work that like nail polish. It retails for $8

wpid-20131118_213421.jpg

Paula’s Choice Resist BHA 9 for Stubborn Impurities. The Birchbox site says hat slowly releases small doses of skin-transforming salicylic acid long after your initial application. Best of all, the doses are so gentle your skin will reap all the positive benefits of salicylic acid without experiencing any dryness or irritation. I’ll lock this one away when I have some rough spots, which I’m sure will come up now that it’s getting cooler. A full size retails for $37.  This is just a small sample.

wpid-20131118_213458.jpg

BeeKind Body Lotion with honey and organic chamomile extracts.  I did try this out when I opened the box.  It’s got a nice light scent and is not to greasy.  It will be nice to keep at my desk or in my purse. It retails for $15.

wpid-20131118_213449.jpg

Chella Highlighter Pencil in Ivory Lace. Birch box says that it’s a brightening formula visibly lifts and opens up the eyes when used on brow bones, water lines, or inner corners, and contours the face by drawing light to the high plains of the face (like the bridge of your nose, cheekbones, and Cupid’s bow). It also helps you create a flawless finish with precise coverage of dark spots, acne scars, and blemishes, and creates clean lines around your lips when you’re rocking a bold lip color.  Ok after reading that I will give it try. I have never used a highlighter but we’ll see how it goes. It retails for $18

chuao_bar_honeycomb_900x900_1_2Chuao Honeycomb Chocolatier Bar.  This one I don’t have a real picture of because my boyfriend wanted to try it right away.  This bar was a nice dark chocolate with bits of honey comb which was a perfect combination.  This line makes interesting combinations with popcorn, maple bacon, pop rocks to name a few. The 2.8 oz bar is $6, a little steep for chocolate, but if you want to try something different this would be the one.  This was actually my favorite part of the box.

Did you all get anything interesting in you Birchbox?

November Ipsy Glam It Up Bag

18 Nov

wpid-20131117_182053.jpg

This months Ipsy is all about the holidays and Glamming it up. First let me start with the bag. While I like the way it looks, it wasn’t the best made.  The bottom seams are already coming apart and I can see the pink lining inside. But really are we in it for the bag?  No, we’re in it for what is in the bag.

wpid-20131117_182309.jpg

I’m really impressed with what was in my back this go around. It seems like it was all full sizes. First a full size mascara from Em Michelle Phan.  I’m a sucker for mascara, so you’ll be getting a review on this in the next few days.  Next is the Be A Bombshell lip crayon is Hot Damn.  I love this name for a red lip crayon, it’s right up there with F Bomb.  Then another Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil in Amethyst , it’s pretty lovely. I think this is the second line from Starlooks and I love the last one, it’s one of the creamiest and smoothest pencil I’ve ever used, and I don’t really care for pencils. Here is a little idea what they look like……

wpid-20131117_182331.jpg

wpid-20131117_182117.jpg

Next is the Pixie Beauty Bronzer.  I like getting Pixie items, my Target discontinued the line a year or so back, so when I was in Myrtle Beach earlier this year I had to stock up on their face primer.  Next is another Nailtini nail polish in a silverish color, it’s a nice color, good for winter. Lastly Glamglow Youthmud Tingelexfoliate Treatment. This is perhaps my favorite of the bunch. I’ve heard good things on Glamglow and I’m a sucker for a face cleaning product I’ll probably try this out tonight and let you all know how this works.

So Ipsy subscribers did you get anything different?  Have any of you used these items? Let me me know what you like and don’t like!

October Ipsy Bag

18 Oct

ipsy 004

Good Morning!  While I’m home for the third day with some weird stomach thing I thought as much to blog on. This week I received this months Ispy bag.  This one so far is my favorite, mainly because I got one of my favorite nail polish colors.

ipsy 005ipsy 008This is Zoya’s Giovanna. It’s a rich emerald color and I love it with all my heart.  Zoya never disappoints, their colors are so pigmented and they last so long, longer with a top coat.  I can’t go on about this product and everyone who loves nail polish should own a few colors all their colors run $8 except their Pixie line is $9.  If you watch them or follow them on Facebook you can find when they are having their great deals, sometimes it’s buy 3 get 3 and some other freebies like their top coats and nail polisher remover.

ipsy 010ipsy 011This is Star Looks in Tipsy, it’s a nice coral color.  I’m not sure how much I will use this but I will figure something out.  I might use it as an eyeliner to spice things up. Here is a better look of it

ipsy 012

ipsy 013

Stylesexyhair spray clay, supposedly a textural hair spray. I’ve seen this brand before, I usually use Bed Head for hairspray.  But I’ll give this one a chance, it will be a great travel item.

ipsy 014

I was surprised I got a medium shadow brush,  I’m slowly collecting more brushes. This will be a nice addition.ipsy 018ipsy 017

Bella Terra Mineral Cosmetics eyeshadow.  It came in a pretty midnight blue.  I’m not a fan of loose powder but it will be put to good use.  Since I wasn’t in my bathroom I did a quick light shot of the color

ipsy 016

I have to say this was a good bag, now I have to wait a few weeks till I get next months.  So what will I do to fill the void?  Fortunately my birthday is next Thursday so I’m hoping for at least a Sephora gift card!

October PopSugar Must Have Box

14 Oct

002

Good Morning guys! Even on my day off I get up early, thou I did sleep in for about 2 hours. I’m waiting for someone else to get up so we can head to Williamsburg for some shopping at the Outlets.  In the mean time I will share what I got in my Popsugar Must Have Box for Oct. This is my second box and I am in love with what I get.  It just went up to $39 but it’s a splurge I can live with.

003Up first is this The Can’t Cook Book, they must know I love cook book and this one is probably one of my favorite ones I own now. I have one called How to Boil Water and it reminds me of it. It’s just the basics oh how to cut items properly and some recipes and I love simple.  I already found a few recipes that I’ll be cooking up in the next few weeks. It retails for $28.

005

I received a gift card in my last box that I need to use. Unfortunately I can’t use this one because I am plus size and they don’t carry clothing that size.  Which is fine it seems to be a little expensive for my blood. I’ll probably use this as a give away. $20 gift card.

006

Jane Tran hair clips.  I’m excited to use this it seems that they won’t tear your hair out and they are on the soft side.  Funny enough that I was looking in Rite Aide the other day to  purchase some hair clips, so again they must have knew that I needed some. I couldn’t find the exact ones I received but it seems it retails around $12.  Which is kind of expensive for my blood.

007

The Wet Hair brush is suppose to be the best detangling brush ever. I checked at Amazon and it had some crazy high reviews.  Which is good, even if thou I have baby fine hair it tangles up like something stupid.  It looks to retail around $14.

008

I use to be a Julep Maven and I had to stop since I was wracking up way to many nail polishes. I’m excited for this once because I never used their top coat, and the color is a perfect dark burgundy for fall. If your not a Maven the polish is $14, $11.20  if you are. The Top Coat is $18.00 or $14.40.  If you are interested in Julep I would suggest to get your money’s worth is to join and be a Maven and you can search on Google to get your first box free or at a discount.

009 I never knew about the line NYX much until I started getting Ipsy and Birchbox and I’m half and half on the product. I usually end up with a blush that is way to colorful for my liking and an eyeshadow that I can use as a highlighter. But that’s the chance you take when you get these type of things.  I’m pretty happy with what I got, I love me some liquid eyeliner and smokey colors. I will do a review once I use them. Retails for the eyeliner $7 and the shadows $8.

010

This Gorjana Charity Bali Bead Bracelet came in pink because it’s October and it’s breast cancer awareness month.  I’m a little disappointed because it’s so pretty and I have an abnormally small wrist but I can’t even wear this.  It retails for $45.

011012The Crispery Crispy Cakes Marshmallow Treat. All I can say is OMG I can’t wait to eat this, it’s so soft and fresh feeling.  I’m waiting to share this with someone because I will shamelessly eat it myself and have a sick sugar high. Retails $4.

There you go!  This one was a good one and I’m so excited for it. Now I must get ready for some shopping!!
